SOUTH BEND - Francis H. "Frank" Szlanfucht, 55, of Shelbyville, Michigan, formerly of South Bend, Indiana, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2010. Frank was born November 22, 1955, in Mishawaka, Indiana, to the late Walter S. and Aleen (Siders) Szlanfucht. Frank attended high school in Galien, Michigan, and then served his country in the U.S. Navy before his honorable discharge. Later, Frank obtained his Associates Degree in Executive Assistant Travel from Davenport College. Surviving are his siblings, John (Janet) Keller of Mishawaka, Glen (Mildred) Keller of Tennessee, Vic (Hazel) Keller of Florida, Mildred (Charles) Robison of Mishawaka, Donna Proud of Texas, Walter (Dottie) Keller of Tennessee, Ronald Szlanfucht of Florida and Stanley Szlanfucht of Massachusetts; as well as a half brother, Jack (Shirley) Szlanfucht; several nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his brothers, Tom Keller, Carl Szlanfucht and Harold Szlanfucht. Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Wednesday, December 22, 2010, in the Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. Rev. Bob Vale will officiate the noon funeral service on Thursday, December 23, 2010, in the Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Frank enjoyed fishing, and singing Karaoke. In his memory, the family's preferred memorial is St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or at www.stjude.org.
