HAMLET-Leo Raymond Yung, 79, passed away Sunday, December 1st, 2013, in his home. Leo was born June 9, 1934, in Berrien County, Michigan to Raymond and Hazel (Dickeson) Yung and lived in the area most of his life. On June 13, 1953, in Knox, Indiana, he was married to the former Sandy Selby, who survives. He is also survived by children, Jon (Carla) Yung of Hamlet, Kay (Wayne) Brown of Fincastle, Virginia, Leo "Bob" (Linda) Yung of Hamlet and Joann (Joel) Rangel of Grovertown; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Hazel Rose "Tinkie"; and brother, Arthur.
Leo was a retired supervisor with the Starke County Highway Department and a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. He loved working on the family farm and especially helping his children and grandchildren in 4-H.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. Central Time at Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel with Pastor Kyle Wright officiating. Burial will be at Fletcher Cemetery in Hamlet. Friends may call Thursday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. CST and Friday one hour prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to VNA Hospice, PO Box 250, LaPorte, IN 46352 or a charity of the donor's choice.
