Herbert P. Jahnke, 79, of South Bend, passed away on July 9th, following an extended illness at Memorial Hospital in South Bend with his loving family by his side. Herb was born in Milwaukee, WI on November 3, 1942, and came to the South Bend area in 1973. He is survived by his four sons: John H. (Tina) of Maryland, Dr. Christopher E. (Cori) of Pennsylvania, Andrew P. of West Virginia and Herbert P. (Angie) Jahnke, Jr. of South Bend, along with eight loving grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sheila R. (Spychalski) Jahnke on February 22, 2022. He was employed as a printer at Finch Paper Company in Niles, MI. He took great pride in target practice, gardening, bowling, was a member of multiple organizations but being with his loving family was his greatest joy. Memorial contributions may be made in Herb’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
