Mrs. Rose Wartha. Mrs. Rose Wartha, 77, of 250 Concord Ave., died in the Wilton Nursing Home at 7:30 p.m. Saturday after an extended illness. She was born April 13, 1885, in South Bend. Surviving are two sons, Roy Wartha of South Bend and Sgt. Thomas Wartha of Ft. Leavenworth, Kan.; two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Paszli of South Bend and Mrs. Mary Ann Hall of Granada Hills, Calif.; two brothers, Joseph Gruse of Chicago and August Gruse of Pinehurst, Mich.; three sisters, Mrs. Susan Vogel of Chicago and the Misses Margaret and Frances Gruse, both of South Bend; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the Hickey Funeral Home, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.

Note: Rose is daughter to Anthony Gruse and Frances (Alfutowski) Gruse; her parents immigrated from Germany.
