Lorraine Sue Trapp
March 14, 1959 - Sept. 23, 2012
SOUTH BEND - Lorraine Sue Trapp, 53, passed away at 1:51 a.m. on Sunday, September 23, 2012, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Lorraine was born on March 14, 1959, in South Bend, to the late Stanley and Mary Lee (Cody) Tomaszewski. She has remained a lifelong resident. Lorraine was a former waitress at Honker's Restaurant in South Bend. Lorraine is survived by her three children, Angela S. Turner, Elizabeth A. Armenakis and Robert O. Turner Jr., all of South Bend; eleven grandchildren, Brandon, Austin, Breanna, Shianne, Cordae, Desirae, Coreena, Ellie, Macayla, Quintynn and Dezmond; one great-granddaughter, Larissa; sister, Sandy (Ed) Tomaszewski; and two brothers, Gary W. (Colleen) Trapp of South Bend and Larry G. (Linda) Tomaszewski of Selmer, TN. She is also survived by her best friend, Tammy Voss of South Bend. Lorraine was a mother and grandmother to all. She loved to be around family and friends and considered her friends as family. She was fun to be around. Lorraine was a member of Living Stones Church and accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior in November 2011. While battling her cancer, she wasn't afraid to die. Lorraine enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, bike riding, and caring for her plants and flowers. Lorraine will always be remembered for her giving spirit and sense of humor. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 28, 2012, at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 5-7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Lorraine S. Trapp may be donated to any Teachers Credit Union under the name of the Lorraine S. Baum Memorial Fund, Account Number 4790625-1. Unfortunately this account is only set up to accept cash. Additional forms of payment will be accepted at Palmer Funeral Home. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com. She is Gone You can shed tears that she is gone or you can smile because she has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see her or you can be full of the love that you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember her and only that she is gone or you can cherish her memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back or you can do what she would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
