SOUTH BEND -- Anna and Walter Saftiuk of South Bend celebrated their 70th anniversary at home. Walter Saftiuk and Anna Hlibka married July 2, 1937, in Mamaivtsi, Ukraine. They have three children, Viktor of South Bend, Elisabeth Paulson of Cadillac, Mich., and Maria Kubon of New Hope, Pa. They also have five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Saftiuk retired from the University of Notre Dame as a supervisor. Mrs. Saftiuk retired from Memorial Hospital, where she worked in nutrition. They have lived in South Bend for more than 55 years.
