Elizabeth also had a multitude of nieces and nephews whom she enjoyed and had lots of fun with when they all got together, as well as two very special friends that she cherished for many years, Nancy L. Chipps of Granger, (Nancy became her "sissy" after a few years, and her children called her "Auntie Beth", and Tai Do of Granger. Elizabeth touched many people''s lives with her smile and her splendid personality. She was generous to others, and always available to help those in need. She adored her family and grandchildren, as they were the light of her life. She loved people, never met a stranger, and was loved by many. She loved to do crafts, and make greeting cards, write poetry and listen to music. She was a longtime member of New Life Church, and loved her Pastor, Michael Cramer and his wife Cindy. When she would see Pastor Mike, she would say "There''s my favorite Pastor!" and he would reply "There''s my favorite Mrs. Dean!" Pastor Dave was also quite special to her as well, and when he would visit her in the hospital, he would come through the door with open arms, which would brighten her day. Mrs. Dean was employed for many years with Burcliff Industries in Mishawaka, and later with Continental Automotive before becoming a librarian at the Mishawaka Public Library. In her memory, donations may be given to the Center for Hospice.
