South Bend - Marion R. Zielinski, 94, passed away, Sunday, April 7, 2013 in the Sanctuary at St. Paul\'s. Marion was born August 14, 1918 in South Bend to the late Albert and Catherine (Witasik) Zielinski. In 1951 Marion married Vada (Taylor) Wright, she preceded him in death. Marion is also preceded in death by brothers, Casimir, Alex, Clem, Sylvester, Louis and Chester; sisters, Phyllis Norris and Eleanor Bruce; a niece, Nancy Sniadecki and a nephew, Alex Zielinski Jr. Survivors of Marion include nieces, Judy Zielinski of Mishawaka, Louise Drapek of South Bend, Joan (Ben) Cecrle of W. Melbourne, FL, Laverne (Ronald) Molenda of South Bend, Virginia (Faustino) Guinto of Seabrook, TX, Barbara Norris of Denver, CO, Ellen Zielinski of South Bend, Connie (Mark) Wallace of Mishawaka, Kathy (Brian) Wendzonka of South Bend, Susan Sisk, Christine Bruce; and nephews, Richard \'Zeke\' Zielinski of South Bend, Michael Norris of South Bend, Larry (Helen) Bruce of South Bend, Gary Bruce and Larry Sniadecki and stepson, Robert (Judy) Wright of Polk City, IA. Marion honorably served his country in the United States Coast Guard during World War II; and he was a parishioner of St. Jude Catholic Church. Marion retired in 1981 from AM General after 17 years of service. He was a member of the VFW #1167, Moose Lodge, and the Eagles Club. Marion loved to go on fishing trips and especially enjoyed spending winters fishing in Florida. He was passionate about exercising, and he loved to cook. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Sanctuary at St. Paul\'s for their love and support throughout the years and Dr. Richard Wein for his care. Visitation for Marion will be 9:00am to 11:00am Thursday, April 11, 2013 in the Sanctuary at St. Paul’s where a Funeral Ceremony will be celebrated at 11:00am on Thursday, April 11, 2013. Burial will follow at St Joseph Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Sanctuary at St. Paul’s, 3602 S. Ironwood Dr., South Bend, IN 46614. Condolences for the family at www.sjfh.net
