Leo is also preceded in death by a son-in-law, James Marina; four brothers, two sisters and three grandchildren. On October 26, 1946 in South Bend Leo married Evelyn "Evie" (Bentkowski) Lyczynski; she survives along with their children, Aurelia "Ory" Marina, Glenn Lyczynski, Kay (Joe) Ulrich, Bonnie (Ron) Kehoe, Cindy Amador, and Sharon (Jimmie Sr.) Ulrich all of South Bend; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Leo proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII carrying troops from ship to shore although he could not swim a stroke. Leo managed the PNA softball team, umpired Mathis Little League games and played Santa Claus for many years. He also enjoyed making Polish sausage with his wife, gardening with brother, Joe and mushroom hunting. Leo was an avid sports fan and followed WHS football and girls' basketball. Leo was our "go to" taxi any time, night or day and never once turned on the meter. After retirement, Leo and his wife, Evelyn became daycare for their grandkids.
