Frank J. Kamaski, of Porter, passed away Friday, March 9, 2007 at the Horton VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso. He was 78. He was born January 20, 1929 in Valparaiso, the son of Frank A. and Mary (Wojtowisk) Kamaski, both of who preceded him in death.
On Nov. 8, 1952 at St. Patrick Catholic church in Chesterton, he married Mary F. Ray, who survives in Porter. He is also survived by five children, Michael (Vickie) Kamaski of Chesterton, Monica (Robert) Casbon of Hebron, Marie Kamaski of Porter, Mark (Cynthia) Kamaski of Griffith and Matthew Kamaski of Porter; four grandchildren, Michael and Chad Kamaski, Jacob Kamaski and Katie Casbon; a brother, Edward Kamaski of Burns Harbor; two sisters, Alice Bushore of Louisiana and Dorothy Clem of Chesterton. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Louis Kamaski and Joseph Kamaski; two sisters, Estelle Baran and Laura Pawloski. Frank was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, member of the Holy Name Society of the church, former Boy Scout leader, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served in WWII, member of the American Legion Post #170 of Chesterton, former owner of the Chesterton Auto Repair in Chesterton for over 50 years. He loved gardening and mushroom hunting. A Mass of Christian Burial, Fr. James Meade and other area priests celebrating the Mass, will be offered at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 13 at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
