INDEX

[N27961] Dorothy Louise Guidi
August 1, 1924 - March 7, 2021

Dorothy Louise Guidi, 96, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021. She was born on August 1, 1924, to the late Julius and Louise Guidi. She lived and maintained the family home her entire life until her illness. She was very proud of her Italian heritage. Her family Christmas celebrations included everything Italian from the meatballs, ethnic foods, decorations and gifts. She had the tallest tree and delighted in standing back and throwing as much tinsel as possible on that tree. In her younger days, she played softball and basketball. Their teams were good and had trophies to prove it. She enjoyed the travel and the teammates. She had a nickname for everyone including family and friends. Once you had one, it stuck. She was a good sister and loved her sisters and brother. She and her sister Lil would visit brother Bob and his wife every year for a vacation in Minnesota. Fishing was the big deal. She was the ultimate aunt to her nieces and nephews, great-nieces, and great-great-nieces and nephews. She loved them all from the oldest to the youngest. Preceding Dorothy in death are her parents; sister, Lillian (Cecil) Perry; brother, Robert Guidi; sister-in-law, Catherine Guidi; nephew, Kim Guidi; and great-nephew, John Slabaugh. Dorothy is survived by her sister, Mary Jo Acrey (Chuck Murphy); sister-in-law, Diane Guidi; nieces, Alison (Kevin) Kerchner, Diane (Joe) Slabaugh, Beth (Dave) Layman, Kara (Todd) Bonvino, Attea (Brett) Jones; nephews, Mik Perry and Dan (Sara) Perry; and a host of great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Special thank you to Judy Zielinski and Leo Daggy for the visits. Due to health and safety concerns, there will be no visitation. A private family burial service will take place. Hahn Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Dorothy’s name to American Cancer Society, 130 Red Coach Dr. Mishawaka, IN 46545.
