SOUTH BEND - Anita M. Sulok, 91, passed away at 12:22 pm Friday, February 19, 2016, in the Sanctuary at Holy Cross. Anita was born on July 7, 1924, in South Bend, to Paul and Anna (Kreskai) Retek. She retired in 1986 from Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. and was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, its choir and VIP Club. Anita also was a member of the South Bend Alumni Assn., St. Vincent de Paul Society and Liberty Mutual Retirees Club. On August 15, 1948, in South Bend, she married Victor C. Sulok. He died on December 21, 2006. Anita was also preceded in death by a son, Joseph M. Sulok, and three brothers, Paul Retek, Rudolph Retek and Emery Retek. Surviving are three daughters, Mary Anne Morris of Ormond Beach, FL, Anita (Thomas) Baranowski of Colorado Springs, CO, and Nancy Sulok of South Bend; two sons, Frederick (Judy) Sulok of South Bend and Victor (Melanie) Sulok of Granger; eight grandchildren, Dennis Morris, Teresa Morris, Thomas Baranowski, Tina Baranowski, Heather Rudez, Megan Sulok, Melissa Hamby and Corinne Sulok; seven great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Nichole, Emily, Natalie, Lily, Maxwell and Michael; and a great-great-grandchild. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Wednesday, February 24, 2016, in St. Jude Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 Tuesday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue, where a Rosary will be recited at 4:00 pm. Viewing will also take place one hour prior to services in the church.
