Joan Wukovits, 97, passed away at 3:57pm Tuesday, April 5, 2022 in Story Point Retirement Community. Joan was born on August 8, 1924 in South Bend to William and Hattie (Szynski) Galvas. On September 2, 1944 she married William Wukovits. He died on May 24, 2001. Joan was also preceded in death by a daughter Donna Abel, grandson Chris Abel, a sister Geraldine Jakubowicz and three brothers Floyd Galvas, Robert Galvas, and Conrad Galvas. Surviving are a son Michael Wukovits, a son-in-law Phil Abel, a granddaughter Laura (Dennis) Molnar, 4 great-grandchildren Alyssa Abel, Elizabeth Abel, Kayla Molnar, and Mandy Rice, and a brother James Galvas. Joan was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Hungary Church, and loved doing crossword puzzles and watching Lawrence Welk. Private services were held, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Zahoran Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements
