George Stephen Zana, Sr., 86, of Granger, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 7, 2021. He was born February 5, 1935 in New Orleans, LA to the late Gabor and Rose (Wargo) Zana. On August 27, 1960 in Albany, LA, George married Barbara (Laird) Zana, who survives. In addition to his loving wife of nearly 61 years, George is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Zana; sons, George Stephen (Colleen) Zana, Jr., and William (Agata) Zana; grandson, William Zana, Jr.; two grandsons by marriage, Patrick Johnson and Christopher (Kelly) Cole; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, George is preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. George proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He had many hobbies including woodworking, cooking, canning, and gardening. George had a love for animals and nature, and enjoyed going antiquing in his free time. In keeping with George’s wishes, no services will be held. Palmer Funeral Homes-Hickey Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements.
