SOUTH BEND - Former South Bend resident Dorothy Ruth “Dot” Hojnacki, 94, of New Carlisle died at 6:08 p.m. Wednesday, July 19th in Hamilton Grove Retirement Community. Mrs. Hojnack was born October 2, 1922 in Atmore, AL to the late Mildred (Armantrout) and Arthur F. Dobbs and had lived in the South Bend area most of her life. On November 6, 1948 in South Bend she married Stanley W. Hojnacki who preceded her in death. Among survivors is a cousin, Ruth Ann Ryan (Michael) of Aurora, CO. Dot retired from Sears Department Store in 1991 and loved to travel with her family. Lawrence Welk and music from the Big Band Era were her favorites. She was a great storyteller and people loved her humorous stories. She was a long time member of St. Paul's Memorial United Methodist Church. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
