SOUTH BEND - Sharon R. Dombrowski, 78 years old, passed away at 10:16 a.m. on Monday, July 3, 2017, at Hospice House, South Bend. Sharon was born on November 7, 1938, in South Bend, to the late Robert and Helen (Rose) Hoofnagle. She has remained a lifelong resident of South Bend. Sharon was a member of Holy Family Parish and was active with the Legion of Mary and Altar & Rosary Society. She volunteered at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center and enjoyed being a member of her Ladies Card Club. Sharon retired in December 2004 after 29 years in clerical work for the Portage Township Trustee Office. Sharon is survived by her four sons, Richard Dombrowski of Mishawaka, Robert (Erin) Dombrowski of South Bend, Mark (Linda) Dombrowski of South Bend and Kevin (Janice Talboom) Dombrowski of South Bend; five grandchildren, Desiree (James) Moore, Jessica (Jay) Ryans, Kyle (Ashlee) Dombrowski, Kody Dombrowski, and Derek (Brittany DeLue) Dombrowski; two grand-dogs, Buddy and Beulah; thirteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kay Markiewicz of Mishawaka and Nancy Balderas of South Bend; and one brother, Robert (Terrie) Hoofnagle of South Bend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at the Holy Family Catholic Church, 56405 Mayflower Road, South Bend. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, July 10th, at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend, where the Rosary will begin at 4:00 p.m. Friends may also visit with the family one hour prior to Mass on Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Sharon R. Dombrowski may be donated to Hospice House, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637; or to the charity of the donor's choice.
