South Bend - Frank A. Ebel, 92, passed away at 6:45pm on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 in his home. Frank was born on April 24, 1919 in South Bend to the late Frank K. and Blanche (Hans) Ebel. He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Manzle, Harry, and Roman Ebel; and four sisters, Martha Galwas, Cecilia Rajski, Virginia Ebel and Regina Ebel. On February 6, 1943 he married Loretta (Mixtacki) Ebel, she survives along with their son, James (Constance) Ebel of South Bend; three grandchildren, Rachel Ebel, Addam Ebel and Allison (Bryan) Van Dyke; great-grandchildren, Alexander Ebel, Anna Van Dyke and Jack Van Dyke; his brother, Leo Ebel; and by many nieces and nephews. Frank honorably served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He was a Milkman for over 19 years for many dairies, and he retired from General Liquors. Frank was a parishioner of St. Casimir Catholic Church, where he was a member of their Seniors Club and Holy Name Society. He was also a member of American Legion Post 357. Frank enjoyed fishing, watching Notre Dame Football, and Chicago Cubs Baseball. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Ct., South Bend, IN 46637. Visitation will be from 2:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, April 29, 2011 in ST JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:00pm. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00am on Saturday, April 30, 2011 in the Funeral Home. Entombment in Resurrection Garden, St Joseph Cemetery will follow.
