SOUTH BEND - Joyce E. Menzie, age 74, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2017, in South Bend, IN. Joyce worked at Information & Records, doing microfilming for storage, for 28 years in the South Bend area. Joyce was born October 15, 1942, in South Bend, to George and Margaret (Hegyi) Barson. Joyce is survived by children, Denise (Will) Van Scoyk of Mishawaka, IN, Dianne (Jerry) Szmanda of South Bend, Darlene (Jim) Krallman of Warsaw, IN, and Donnie (Judy) Menzie of Mishawaka; grandchildren, Amber Krallman, Matthew (Jessica) Krallman, Jennifer (Adam) Habegger, Andrew Krallman, Kaci (Eric) DeMaegd, Tony (Danielle) Evanoff, Bryan Evanoff, and Austin Szmanda; great-grandchildren, Aric, August, Jordan, Landen, Cameron, Logan, Sienna, Katiana, Thomas, Izabeau, and Eleanor; and brother, Ronald (Carolyn) Barson of South Bend. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, George and Margaret Barson. Joyce was a graduate of Riley High School. She also ushered for Notre Dame and the South Bend Silverhawks. She enjoyed working at JC Penny for 12 years. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 20th, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Palmer Funeral Home, River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, IN 46615. Pastor Bob Vale will officiate. Burial will follow the Tuesday service at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger, IN. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, June 19th, 2017, from 5:00-8:00 PM at Palmer Funeral Home, River Park.
