South Bend - Buchanan - Eugene Thomas Wieczorek, 79, passed away on Monday, May 17, 2021. Gene was born December 9, 1941 in South Bend to the late Bert and Virginia (Dembinski) Wieczorek. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Wieczorek. Left to cherish the memory of Gene are his nieces, Tina Marie Wieczorek &, Linda Wieczorek; sister-in-law, Judith Wieczorek; and special cousins, Suzie & Yvonne. Gene honorably served his country in the United States Navy from 1959-1962. He trained and volunteered for the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary doing search and rescues. Gene retired from I & M as a Lineman. He was a member of the American Legion, Sports Car Club of America, and Radio Control Airplane Club. Gene was a very active person who always tried to learn new things. He learned the stock market, how to play the guitar and the keyboard. Gene enjoyed going out to eat with his friends, going to reunions from his past ventures, and staying in touch with friends he made over the years. Graveside services will take place at 10:30AM on Saturday, July 3, 2021 in St. Joseph Cemetery. ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME is assisting the family.
