Lillian Mary Kedik
nee Hernitz
March 8, 1929 - July 5, 2021
Lillian Mary Kedik, 92, of Mishawaka passed away on July 5, 2021 at her residence. She was born on March 8, 1929 in South Bend, IN to the late Mary (Simon) and Louis J. Hernitz. Lillian made an impression on those she met and they have commented on what a wonderful and sweet lady she was. She had a generous spirit and prayed for everyone. She was an excellent cook and loved baking Hungarian dishes. Lillian always welcomed new neighbors to the neighborhood the old fashioned way with home baked goods. She loved bringing her family together for all holidays including Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day. Her daughters' song for Lillian was "I Just Called to Say I Love You" by Stevie Wonder for this reason. Her family appreciated being able to talk to her on the phone and benefited from her supportive and comforting advice. No matter how long the road trip, Lillian was able to keep up a constant conversation without repeating herself. She was an amazing woman who was able to clean the house, do laundry and cook until her latest hospitalization. Her family will miss her greatly. She is survived by her son, John T Kedik; her daughters, Susan (Paul) Rambow-Petgen, Jane (Larry) Matz, and Lynne (Joe) Ness; her sister, Valarie Ifflander; 2 sister-in-laws Marge Armstrong and Mary Jane (Bob) Hood; 7 grandchildren, Lana, George, Jennifer, Geoff, Joe, Tyler, and Monika; and 3 great grandchildren, Logan, Gwen, and Lilliana. She is preceded in death by her late husband John L. Kedik. A Mass of Christian Burial for Lillian will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 11AM at Queen of Peace. Friends may visit from 10AM until the time of mass. Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola is honored to care for the Kedik Family. Published on July 07, 2021
