Edward F. Rudynski, 90, of Alterra Sterling House, South Bend, Ind., formerly of Canterbury Drive, South Bend, passed away at 7:18 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, in Memorial Hospital. He was born on May 5, 1912, to the late Leon and late Eleanora (Ciesiolka) Rudynski in South Bend, and was a lifelong resident. Mr. Rudynski retired from the South Bend Tribune in 1977 where he had served as a printer in the composing room for seven years. Prior to that, he served as a printer/typesetter at Peerless Press, Inc, in South Bend for 42 years.

On June 9, 1934, he married Josephine Rozewicz in St. Adalbert Catholic Church in South Bend. She died on Nov. 22, 1994. A sister, Helen Janowczyk, his twin brother, Clement Rudynski, and a brother, Ted Rudynski, also preceded him in death.

He is survived by a daughter, Janice (Larry) Harding of Granger, Ind.; a son, Raymond (Susan) Rudynski of South Bend; seven grandchildren, Jay (Jenny) Rudynski of Niles, Mich., Kevin (Mary) Rudynski of Anderson, Ind., Christopher (Christine) Rudynski of Westerville, Ohio, Todd Harding of London, England, Brian (Maria) Harding of South Bend, Jill (Charles) Herthoge of Mishawaka, Ind.,
and Colleen Denbow of South Bend; and by 11 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Rudynski was a member of St. John the Baptist parish, International Typographical Union-Local #128, and St. Joseph Young Men's Society. He was an avid woodworker
who provided birdhouses and bird feeders to all his friends and family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with Rev. John P. Riley, C.S.C., officiating.
Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 22, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a wake service will be held at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County, Inc., 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637-3437.
