JONES - Clementine "Clemie" (Mark) Muckenfuss, 81, of M-40, Jones, MI, passed away at home on Sunday, January 25, after a battle with cancer. Clemie was born on November 23, 1927, in South Bend, to the late Mary and Joseph Otolski. She went to work early in her life at H.D. Lee Company, and also worked at Wells Electronics. In 1975 she went to work at South Bend Lathe (Dynablast Division) where she retired in 1992. Clemie married Glen Mark in 1944, and he preceded her in death in 1972. She then married Bob Muckenfuss on May 23, 1981, in South Bend, and he survives. She is also survived by a daughter, Janice (Ken) Benson; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Walt (Margaret) Hes of South Bend; three sisters, Virginia (Warren) Korkhouse of South Bend, Barbara Crump of South Bend and Pat Jackmovich of Osceola. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Norma Pennell in 1980; a son, Louie Mark on December 3, 2008; and by a sister, Theresa Katona in 1998. Clemie was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Cassopolis. She like to knit and crochet and do crossword puzzles. She loved camping and spending time with her friends. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Cassopolis. Officiating will be Pastor David Weiss. Interment will be at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2 to 7 p.m. in the Connely Funeral Home, Cassopolis. Memorials may be made to Three Rivers Hospice, 701 S. Health Parkway, Three Rivers, MI 49093; or to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 305 W. State Street, Cassopolis, MI 49031. God saw you getting tired When a cure was not to be He closed His arms around you and whispered "Come to Me." In tears we saw you sinking We watched you fade away. Our hearts were almost broken, You fought so hard to stay. But when we saw you sleeping, So peacefully, free of Pain, We would not wish you back To suffer that again. So treasure her Lord, In your "Garden of Rest," For here on earth, She was "One of the best." Published in the South Bend Tribune on 1/28/2009
