NEW CARLISLE - Emily M. Nugteren, 74, of New Carlisle, IN, passed away Tuesday in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. She was born August 6, 1937, in Sioux Falls, SD. On January 8, 1957, she married Adrian Nugteren, who survives. Along with her loving husband, she is survived by her three daughters, Leisa Knecht of South Bend, Lori (Steve) Deutscher of Twin Lakes, WI, and Amy Jaye of New Carlisle; seven grandchildren, Amanda Zaman, Ashlie and Zachary Knecht, Danielle, Brent and Shannon Deutscher, and Adriane Feltz; 10 great-grandchildren, Kaden and Kaiya Zaman, Meah and Trinity Knecht, Evanna, Sarina, Olivia and Wyatt Knecht, Riley (Deutscher) Burmann, Eddy (Deutscher) Able; and two brothers, Jim (Barb) Nation of Las Vegas, NV, and William (Myrna) Christinson of Sioux Falls, SD. Mrs. Nugteren retired from Wells Fargo in 1986. She was a member of the New Carlisle United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm Friday, September 30, 2011, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S. Filbert St., New Carlisle. Funeral services for Emily will be held at 11 am Saturday, October 1, 2011, in the New Carlisle United Methodist Church, with burial to follow at Olive Chapel Cemetery, New Carlisle.
