SOUTH BEND - Arthur R. Deranek, 92, passed away at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, in his home. Visitation will be from noon to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 9, in St, Joseph Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 1: 00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. For those who are unable to attend the funeral service, condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.

SOUTH BEND - Arthur R. Deranek, 92, passed away at 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2009 in his home. Arthur was born on September 27, 1917, in South Bend to Wicenty and Bronislawa (Oznak) Deranek. On May 25, 1940, Arthur married Irene G. and she passed away on August 20, 2007. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Esther; his brother, Edward; by his twin brothers, Edwin and Erwin; and two deceased great-grandchildren. Arthur is survived by his son, Tom V. Deranek of Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren, Latisha R. Deranek of Mishawaka, Jennifer Lundy, Danny Steadman and Katheryn Fager, all of South Bend and Russell McCain of Florida; nine great-grandchildren; and by his sister-in-law, Madeline S. Szabo. Arthur worked for Bendix as a Tool & Die Engineer before he retired in 1985. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a member of American Legion Post 284. Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, November 9, 2009, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 1827 E. Ireland Road. A funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of St. Joseph County, 2506 Grape Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545. For those who are unable to attend the funeral service, condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
