SOUTH BEND - Mary Andrasik, 84, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2011. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Sue (James) Crimmins and Barbara (John) DeChellis; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2011, in St. Joseph Church, South Bend, IN. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, and for one hour prior to the Mass on Tuesday in the church.

SOUTH BEND - Mary Andrasik, 91, of South Bend, IN, who resided with Jim and Mary Sue, passed away at 4:55 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2011, in Regency Place. Mary was born on October 9, 1919, in South Bend, to the late Joseph Molnar Sr. and Barbara (Soltesz) Molnar. She retired from the University of Notre Dame in October 1981, where she was employed in the infirmary for 15 years. On April 26, 1946, in Houston, TX, as Mary Molnar, she married Joseph Andrasik, who preceded her in death on September 23, 2000. Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Joseph, Stephen and Frank Molnar; and one sister, Helen Molnar. Survivors include her two daughters, Barbara (John) DeChellis of Chersterland, OH, and Mary Sue (James) Crimmins of South Bend, IN; seven grandchildren, Rebecca Niznik, Deborah (Todd) Kruetz, Donald DeChellis, Jeffrey (Joanna) DeChellis, Samantha (Robert Pearson) Crimmins, Danielle Crimmins and Joseph Crimmins; five great-grandchildren, Katherine Kreutz, Hannah Niznik, Todd Kreutz Jr., Jackson Niznik and Joseph Kreutz; and by many nieces, nephews and cousins to whom she was close. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2011, in St. Joseph Church, South Bend, IN. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Friends may also call from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday in St. Joseph Church. Mary was a member of St. Stephen's Parish for years and when the church closed came to St. Joseph Parish where she has been embraced by the Eucharistic Ministry for the Homebound representative Mary Treanor. She belonged to the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, White Eagle Chapter #39. She was a member of the Howard Park Senior Citizens for many years. Mary had wonderful caregivers at home, Beth and Melody: Thank you so much! The family would like to thank the staff at Regency for their support and kindness. Mary enjoyed playing cards. She loved her family and loved to watch her grandchildren and bake and cook for them. Memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics and to St. Joseph's Catholic Church in South Bend.
