MISHAWAKA - Louis A. Doczy, 92, passed away at 4:45 p.m. Thursday, December 11, 2008, in the Sanctuary at St. Paul's. Louis was born on May 11, 1916, in South Bend, to Emil and Vilma (Nagy) Doczy. After Vilma's death he was raised by his second mother, Ethel Doczy. Louis was employed by the South Bend Library, St. Joseph County Library, University of Notre Dame, South Bend Toy, Studebaker, and Peter Pan Cleaners. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Our Lady of Hungary Church, and was a World War II Army veteran. On August 26, 1944, he married the former Helen J. Szoke. She died on April 14, 2003. Louis was also preceded in death by an infant sister, Helen, sister, Helen, and brothers, Dan and Joseph. Surviving are two brothers, Emil (Bernice) Doczy of Granger and Paul (Janice) Doczy of Port Charlotte, FL; a sister-in-law, Margaret Rohrer of Bakersfield, CA; numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2008, in Our Lady of Hungary Church. A luncheon will follow in Our Lady of Hungary School. Entombment will take place at Highland Cemetery. Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue, is handling arrangements.
