Emma O. Bartholomew

Mrs. Emma O. Bartholomew, 81, of 909 E. Ewing, died at about 5 p.m. Tuesday in her home. She was the former owner of Bartholomew's Inc. Born March 12, 1894 in South Bend, she was a lifetime resident of the area. On Oct. 8, 1921 in South Bend, she married E.V. Bartholomew, who died Oct. 28, 1958. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Robert J. Adams of South Bend; as son, Rev. Bruce Bartholomew of Evansville; nine grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Frances Malinowski of South Bend, and a brother, Clem Brohde of Fort Lauderdale. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in the Emmaus Lutheran Church, with Rev. Ronald Seitz, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Forest G. Hay and Son Funeral Home, 1201 S. Michigan. She was a member of the Emmaus Church.
