SOUTH BEND - Sharon K. Glon, 79, residing in South Bend, passed away at 9:10 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2018 at Hospice House, South Bend, surrounded by the love and care of her family. She was born November 20, 1938 in Elkhart, IN, a daughter of the late Richard H. & Evelyn I. (Hagenau) Keck, and has been a lifelong resident of this area. On August 3, 1957 in South Bend, as Sharon Keck, she was united in marriage to Leonard A. Glon. They have enjoyed nearly 61 years of marriage together. Along with her husband Leonard, she is also survived by her daughters, Jody (Bob) Brinks and Janell (Brian) Gorski, both of South Bend; her granddaughter, Ashley Hughes; and step-grandchildren. Sharon is also survived by her brother, Dennis (Janet) Keck of Middlebury, IN. Sharon attended the former Ridgedale Presbyterian Church and was employed with the South Bend Tribune for 23 years. She received the City of South Bend Bowling Tournament Singles Handicap Championship Trophy and was a 4-H leader for Greene Township Horse and Pony for 10 years. The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00p.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend. A Memorial Service for Sharon will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 19, at the funeral home. Rev. Jeff Kennedy will officiate. Expressions of sympathy on behalf of Mrs. Glon may be offered to The Center for Hospice Care, Inc., 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545. SOUTH BEND -- Celebrating their 50th anniversary with a family dinner are Sharon and Leonard Glon of 59656 Bluebird Court. Leonard Glon and Sharon K. Keck married Aug. 3, 1957, at St. Dominic Catholic Church, Bremen. They have two daughters, Jody Brinks and Janell Tobalski, both of South Bend. They also have one granddaughter, one step-granddaughter and three step-great-granddaughters. Mr. Glon was employed by Allegra Print & Imaging. Mrs. Glon retired from The Tribune, where she continues to work part time. They have lived in South Bend for 50 years.
