GOSHEN, IN. - Andrew Joseph Grywczynski, Sr. passed away on December 25th, 2017 after a brief illness. He was born on January 19th, 1946 in Westerland, Germany to the union of John and Helen Grywczynski. In 1973, Andrew married Joann (Winston) and to this union was born a son, Andrew Joseph Grywczynski, Jr. Andrew is survived by son, Andrew Jr., of (South Bend), 4 stepdaughters Beverly of Indianapolis, Crystal of (South Bend), LaTanga of (Columbus, Ohio) and Selena of (Indianapolis, Indiana) a grandson Rickey Jefferies, Jr., LaRena Burnett, Sunsea (Martell) Williams, Sahnarriea and Kenshea Grywczynski, Jasmine Swanson, Alezandria Winston, Paja Brown along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, and 5 brothers, Hank, William, Chester, Walter and Henry and his wife Joann. Andrew was a member of St. Augustine's Church where him and his wife, Joann faithfully served until his illness. Andrew was a member of the Armed Forces of the United States of America where he served and was honorably discharged. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service medal, with two Bronze stars. He also received a Campaign Medal with 1960 device, 2 overseas Bars, he was a Sharpshooter (M-14), and Expert (M-16). He also enjoyed working at the Marriott and Century Center doing catering and various Bingo Halls and factory jobs. Services will be at Alford's Mortuary on December 30th, 2017. Viewing will be at 9 am, and funeral at 10 am. We would like to give a special thanks to Courtyard Nursing Home of Goshen, Indiana and Great Lakes Hospice.
