Jeanette B. Tobolski, 92, of South Bend, Indiana passed away at 3:04 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022, with her family by her side in Memorial Hospital. Jeanette was born on July 9, 1929 in South Bend to Stephen and Magdalene (Chudzinski) Latowski. She retired on December 31, 1999 from the former Mittler Supply, where she was employed for 27 years as a bookkeeper. On October 8, 1949 she married Joseph J. Tobolski, who preceded her in death on September 11, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Anastasia Swanson; two sons-in-law, Craig Swanson and Douglas Crotty; one sister, Delores Bock; and one sister-in-law, Estella Latowski. Jeanette is survived by five daughters, Charlene Swanson of Gainsville, Florida, Kathy (Pat) Sousley of Granger, Indiana, Ann (Tom) DeBaets of South Bend, Indiana, Cheryl (Jim) Nowicki of South Bend, Indiana and Becky (Chris) Root of Placerville, California; one son, Mark Tobolski of Medinah, Illinois; twelve grandchildren, Dawn Bergeron, Brent (Wendy) Swanson, Jamie (Jeff) Hemmerlein, Ryan (Aubrey) Sousley, Jenna (Mark) Criniti, Jason (Sarah) Kenney, Adam (Libby) Nowicki, Scott (Megan) Kenney, Heather Kenney, Allyson Tobolski, Sydney Tobolski and Mia Root; seventeen great-grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn (John) Kibler of Elkhart, Indiana; and one brother, Steve Latowski of South Bend, Indiana. She was a special one of a kind mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who never missed any of the kids/grandkids/great-grandkids sports or school functions. Any friends of her children or her grandchildren were met with the same warmth and love as if they, too, were her children or grandchildren. Everyone called her Bushia and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her instantly loved her too, she was simple known to all as Bushia. Mom would do anything or sacrifice anything for those she loved. She loved her family more than anything, they were her pride and joy. Bushia will be missed by all that loved her and knew her. We love and miss you Mom, until we meet again. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2022 in Holy Cross Catholic Church, where a visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Kaniewski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
