SOUTH BEND - Rudolph Harsanyi, 89, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 in the Signature Health Facility. Rudy was born August 5, 1928 to the late Paul & Anna Harsanyi. On June 29, 1952, Rudy married his loving wife, Loretta (Papczynski) Harsanyi; she preceded him in death on March 14, 2018. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Frank, Steve, Joseph, and Eugene Harsanyi. Rudy is survived by his son, Dave (Pam) Harsanyi; grandchildren, David and Brian Harsanyi; and great-grandchildren, Gracelyn and Dillon Harsanyi. Rudy honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. He was employed with the Bendix & Wheelabrator Corporations. Rudy was a member of the Air Force Association, and Academy of Model Aeronautics Association. He enjoyed building and flying model aircraft, radio communications, and going to airshows with his family. Visitation for Rudy will be held 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, Thursday, May 10, 2018 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., with a small service beginning at 12:00 pm. Entombment will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
