MISHAWAKA - Tracy Gushwa, 51, of Mishawaka, passed away on Saturday, March 14th in his residence surrounded by his loving family. Tracy was born in Mishawaka on April 28, 1963 to the late Lewis H. and Ruth E. (Gerard) Gushwa. On June 3, 1987, he married Tina M. Clanton in Accomack, Virginia. Tracy proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. His carrier group, VA 34, participated in the bombing of Libya in 1986. He was thankful he was able to visit different parts of the world on shore leave, including England, Italy and Germany-and was honorably discharged in 1988. He was a member of the VFW Post 360 and the DAV. Tracy is survived by his loving wife, Tina and their son, Michael Wayne Gushwa. He is also survived by siblings, twin sister Stacy (Mike) Grattenthaler of Mishawaka, Lewis (Judy) Gushwa of Kokomo, IN and Judy (Gene) Grenert of Granger, along with several nieces and nephews. Tracy's greatest happiness was spending time with his son, Michael. Whether playing hot wheels, video games, tossing a ball and playing little league; or watching Notre Dame football, Jeff Gordon or the Rifleman on TV- it didn't matter. He loved and cherished every minute of hangin' out with his little buddy. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, March 18th from 5-8 PM in Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, and one hour prior to the service. A service celebrating Tracy's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 19th in the Funeral Chapel with Pastor Michael Cramer officiating. Military Funeral Honors and burial is to follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Published in South Bend Tribune on Mar. 17, 2015
