OSCEOLA, IN - Norma Jean Bevilhymer, 91, of Osceola, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 12, 2021. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Center for Hospice, Raclin House in Mishawaka. Norma was born February 13, 1929 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Richard and Lois Burger. Norma was only 10 years old when her mother passed away. She left school in high school to help care for her younger brother and sister. Norma married Robert Bevilhymer on June 23, 1946 and they celebrated over 70 years of marriage at the time of his death on May 16, 2017. She was a very sweet and loving mother and grandmother to her children, Lois (deceased), Ernie (Jennifer) Bevilhymer, and Robert (Kathy) Bevilhymer; and her grandchildren, Savannah and Seth Bevilhymer. She is survived by her sisters, Pricilla Mudrovich, Kathy Wise, and Karen Sikorski. She was preceded in death by her three-year-old sister, Maryland and her brothers, Donald and James Burger. A private service was held at Cruz Family Funeral Home in Osceola. To view a recording of the funeral service, please visit Norma's webpage at www.CruzFamilyFH.com.
Norma and her husband owned Century Softwater Company in South Bend where Norma served as the office manager for many years. She enjoyed spending time boating with her family and friends on the St. Joe River, snowmobiling in Michigan, and traveling with her husband in their R.V. Norma was an immaculate housekeeper, even up to recent years. She loved sitting on her deck watching boats go by with her family and her beloved dog Sparky sitting on her lap. In lieu of flowers, the Bevilhymer family requests donations be given in Norma's memory to the Center for Hospice Care, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, Indiana, 46545.
