SOUTH BEND - Evelyn J. Borowski, 91, passed away at 4:50 a.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2011, in Hamilton Grove. Evelyn was born on June 26, 1920, in South Bend, to the late Leo and Anastasia (Malkowski) Mrozinski. On July 13, 1946, she married Joseph Borowski, who preceded her in death in 1989. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Irene Rozewicz. She is survived by her daughter, Judy (Curt) Phillips of Carmel, IN; son, Thomas (Carol) Borowski of Powell, OH; two grandchildren, Karen Borowski of Chicago, IL, and Joseph "Joe" Borowski of Columbus, OH; sister, Gertrude Wolkiewicz of South Bend; and by her brother, Richard (Margaret) Mrozinski of Mishawaka. Evelyn was a parishioner of St. Adalbert Catholic Church, and was a member of the Rosary Sodality. She enjoyed puzzles and reading. Evelyn enjoyed playing Bingo and cards with her friends. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2011, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 4, 2011, in St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Brother Andre Fund, 2505 W. Grace St., South Bend, IN 46619.
