Eleanor D. Verosky, 94, passed away at 1:05pm on Friday, June 18,2021. She was at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 3 rd,1927 to Anthony and Helen Filipski who preceded her in death. She married the love of her life, John Verosky on May 28 th, 1949, at Holy Family Church in South Bend. He preceded her in death on March 26 th, 1995. Also preceding her in death was their son, Dennis Verosky and her brother, Clarence Filipski. Eleanor is survived by her daughters, Linda (Don) Jesswein and Patty (Mark) Hiatt. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Carrie (Ben) Martin, Michele Bell, Ryan (Erin) Jesswein, Chad Hiatt, Allison (Eric) Woodward, Kyle (Chenelle) Hiatt, a great grandson, Cole Martin and a sister-in-law, Lorraine Filipski and several Nieces and Nephews. Eleanor loved playing games, whether it was playing Bingo with friends or staying in and playing board games with family. She also loved music and dancing, dancing at her grandchildren's weddings and singing along to Bruno Mars during road trips. She was still very active at the age of 92, driving her car and cutting her own grass. Eleanor loved her religion and her church, St. Stanislas Kostka (New Carlisle), where she was very involved, as an Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Rosary and Altar Society, Legion of Mary, and a member of the "Our Lady's of St. Stan's Rosary Makers" where she helped make hundreds of Rosaries that were distributed throughout the World. Eleanor worked at Ball Band, Indiana Bell telephone, St. Joseph Hospital and retired from Sears. The Family wishes to thank the Doctors and staff at Beacon Hospital and the staff at the Center for Hospice and Pallative Care for their compassionate and professional care. Friends will be received at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 South Mayflower Road, South Bend, Indiana 46619 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm on Monday, June 21 st, 2021 and also for a half hour prior to the Mass at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Stanislas Kostka Catholic Church in New Carlisle at 10:00am on Tuesday, June 22 nd,2021 with burial following at St. Joseph cemetery.
