On Sep. 26, 1892, Stephen Pianowski married Mary Jedrzejewski in St. Joseph Co., Indiana. According to the 1900-1920 census of St. Joseph Co., Indiana, Stephen immigrated on 1869 and Mary in the early 1870s. Stephen was a fireman for the city of South Bend in 1900. By 1910, he had become a farmer in Penn Township. The children recorded in their census records included (in birth order): Anna, Frank, Leo, and Hattie.
