MISHAWAKA - Maryann Pairitz-Fuchs, 85, passed away at 1:25am Friday, May 14, 2021 in the Raclin House, Center for Hospice. Maryann was born on December 26, 1935 in South Bend to Zigmond and Anna (Chodzinski) Nemeth. She worked as a master cosmetologist and taught at the House of James Beauty School. Maryann loved to travel to Florida and Hawaii, reenact the Civil War battles and crochet. On June 28, 1958 she married Dr. Frank D. Pairitz. He died on May 10, 2003. On January 21, 2006 she married Robert Fuchs. He died on March 20, 2021. Maryann was also preceded in death by a brother Richard Chrzan. Surviving are two daughters Katharine (Peter) Pairitz-Hirl and Kristine (Dan) Pairitz-Spencer, a son Stephen “Ziggy” (Teresa) Pairitz, five grandchildren Sophie Pairitz, Anna Pairitz, Rachael Spencer, Teresa (Patrick) Fischer and Daniel Spencer and two brothers-in-law John (Johanna) Pairitz and David (Marylou) Pairitz. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am Tuesday, May 18, 2021 in St. Monica Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Family and friends may visit with the family from 10-11 Tuesday in the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Historical Society of St. Joseph County.
