South Bend - David J. Witucki, 85 years old, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. David was born September 16, 1936 in South Bend, to the late Ernest and Mary (Kopczynski) Witucki. Left to cherish the memory of David is the love of his life for 63 years, Carolyn (Gorka) Witucki; along with their children, Mark (Cathy) Witucki, Donna (Kevin) Paczkowski and Janet (Jerry) Scott; grandchildren, Lauren (Mitch) Daugherty, David Witucki, Alexa (Andrew) Tuskey, Daniel Witucki and Benjamin (Sarah) Paczkowski; great grandchild Lucas Daugherty; brother, Ernest (Marsha) Witucki, Jr., sister, Joyce Buhler and sister-in-law Monika (James) Witucki. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Witucki. David retired from Nipsco after 28 years of service. He was a parishioner of Holy Family Parish and a member of the choir for many years. David was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching Notre Dame football, IU basketball, the Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Bears. He loved playing golf with his friends and enjoyed challenging his family members to ping pong matches with his special paddle. David will be greatly missed and fondly remembered as a wonderful husband, father, brother, and friend. The family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff of St. Paul's and Memorial hospital for the exceptional care they provided David. Visitation for David will be from 2pm to 6pm on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. with a Rosary to be prayed at 4pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Monday, February 7, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 56405 S Mayflower Rd. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church. Condolences for the family may be sent to www.sjfh.net.
