[N31293] Sandra Kay Tirotta
October 26, 1942 - February 2, 2022

Sandy was born in South Bend, Indiana to Perry and Lena (Sainato) Tirotta and died peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She found great pride in her large family, catholic faith, and Italian heritage. She was the most loving, kindest, caring, giving, feisty mother anyone could ever ask for. She spent her life providing to anyone in need and being kind to everyone she encountered. Sandy was a successful business owner, Notre Dame football fan, singer, dance instructor, coach, super fan attending all her family’s activities and special events, always the loudest one cheering. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband Harry Chabera, her parents, siblings; Judith Sinkovics, Mary Spencer, Rose Ratkay, Edith Lansford, Teresa McKamey, Catherine Everly, Angela Marlin, Barbara Johnson, Perry Tirotta, Michael Tirotta, grandchildren; Domnik Kazmierczak, and Perri Lena Tirotta. Sandy was a wonderful mother to her five children Lynette Hochstedler, Ralph (Karen) Salata, Sandra (Doug) Kazmierczak of South Bend, Rene Tirotta of Mishawaka, and Harry Chabera of Edwardsburg. She is survived by her brothers Paul (Allene) Tirotta, Frank Tirotta, and Joe Tirotta. She was Gramma to 15 grandchildren and Nana to 13 great grandchildren. Your smile lit up the room, your laughter was music to our ears. We thank you for all the memories and will miss you so much. A very special thank you to her loving companion James “Paul” Kendall. You have enjoyed each other’s company for nearly 10 years together while traveling, eating out, and care giving. You stuck with each other through thick and thin and looked out for our most precious gift. She loved you dearly as do All of US. As heaven opened its gates to receive you, we find comfort in all the loved ones that you have missed so much whom have now welcomed you with open arms. Mama, Gramma, Nana we were lucky to have you and LOVE YOU SO MUCH! A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2022 in St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN, where a rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. To send online condolences, please visit kaniewski.com.
