Karen Marie Foulks, 69, residing in Osceola, Indiana passed away at 2:50 PM Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at the Center for Hospice, South Bend. She was born in Chicago, IL on March 8th, 1946 to the late William D. Humphreys and Claire (Iskierka) Humphreys. Karen met the love of her life Lester Foulks and on August 8th, 1988 at the Shiojira Niwa Japanese Garden, Mishawaka, Indiana they were united in marriage. They both cherished their marriage and all the wonderful years together they were blessed with. Karen is survived by her husband, Lester Foulks of Osceola, IN, and her step-son Michael (Cami) Foulks of Phoenix, AZ. Karen was a loving grandmother to Shara (Travis) King and Karen Grissom both of Mishawaka, Glen (Kaysi) Davis of South Bend, and Madeline Kirby, Kayla Ehler, Austin Foulks and William Foulks, all of Phoenix, AZ. She was also blessed with 7 Great Grandchildren Alyssa, Brianna, Travis II, Jada, Haylee, Arianna, and Kortnee. Karen was preceded in death by her Daughter Dawn Grissom and her Great Granddaughter Kaytlin King. Karen was employed for the South Bend City Transportation Dept and drove buses for Transpo for 33 years. She loved her job and over the years made many friends including coworkers and people who frequented the bus. She was also an active member and treasurer for the bus drivers union, Amalgamated Transit Union Local 996. Karen liked watching football and always cheered for The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Chicago Bears. Karen moved from Albuquerque, NM as a young adult but her love for the area never dulled; Karen and Lester were to move there when she retired. Karen and Lester shared other common interests and passions for firearms, motorcycles and a love and compassion for cats. They enjoyed going to gun shows together and also going on rides in previous years on their Goldwing motorcycle. A Mass for Karen Marie Foulks will be held at 12:30 PM Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 4508 Vistula Rd., Mishawaka, IN 46544.
