MISHAWAKA - Victor Joseph Gulatta, 84, residing in Mishawaka, IN, passed away at 8:07 AM Monday, January 4, 2016, at his home. He was born on February 3, 1931, in Mishawaka, IN, to the late Joseph and Mildred (Coryell) Gulatta. On August 12, 1949, in Mishawaka, he married Wanda N. (Brown) Gulatta, who preceded him in death on May 27, 2015.Victor was employed as a millwright at Uniroyal for many years and later was self-employed as a contractor in Florida, where he earned his license. Victor is survived by two daughters, Vickie Roper of Mishawaka and Candace (Gene) Gorbics of Plainwell, MI; his son-in-law, Robert Mills, Jr. of Bremen; six grandchildren, Teresa Roper and Karen Beatty, both of Mishawaka, Sheila (Toby) Mills-Lakins and Victor Mills, both of Bremen, and Scott Gorbics and Jacqueline Gorbics, both of Michigan; thirteen great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; and his sister, Marjorie Hall of South Bend. Along with his wife and parents, one daughter, Darlene Mills, his son, Terry Gulatta, son-in-law, Mike Roper, grandson, Joey Roper, and two sisters, Louise Garner and Delores Lancaster, all preceded him in death. Victor was a former member of Southside General Baptist Church, Mishawaka. He loved cookouts, camping and fishing. Victor loved spending time with family and friends and spending the winter months in Florida. A celebration of Victor's life will be held at a later date. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, IN. Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, South Bend, is assisting the family with arrangements. The family's preferred memorials are to Southside General Baptist Church, 1614 S. Spring Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.
