MILFORD - Harry D. Janiszewski, 95, passed away on Sunday, June 1, in IU Health Goshen Hospital. Harry was born on January 19, 1919, in South Bend, to Roman and Wanda (Smigielska) Janiszewski. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Eric; two sisters and two brothers. On September 5, 1942, in South Bend, he married the former Irene Radlowski; she preceded him in death on February 8, 2009. Surviving are a daughter, Adrienne (Phil) Harris of Milford, IN; three grandchildren, Tammy, Jeff and Tara; six great-grandchildren, Justin, Corey, Jenna, Caleb, Grace and Lucas; and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Janiszewski of South Bend. Harry was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served his country during WW II. He was a member of American Legion Post 357 and Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Harry worked as a pipefitter for 32 years at Bendix before he retired in 1982. He enjoyed fishing and playing cards. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, June 6, at 10:30 a.m., with visitation one hour prior in Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with Rev. John Eze officiating. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Polish Roman Catholic Cemetery in South Bend, where Military Honors will be rendered by American Legion Post 357. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Foundation Supporting Center for Hospice Care: South Bend-Elkhart-Plymouth, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
