Died at 5:30 a.m. in his home, 4715 W Edison. His physician said he suffered a heart attack.
Cegielski was sheriff in 1945 & 1946. His 1st political job was as a deputy sheriff in 1937 and 1938. He was also a clerk in the shipping room of Singers Mfg. Co. Services at Holy Family Catholic Church, burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Married to Maryann J. Robakowski on 6-8-1926 at St. Adalbert's Church in South Bend, IN., who survives, with a son Matthe J., a brother Al, two sisters, Mrs. Clara Maculski and Mrs. Frances Drada all of South Bend & another sister, Mrs. Stella Bazyk of Lakeville, & a grandson.

Burial: Saint Joseph Cemetery, South Bend, St. Joseph County, IN
