Olive Collier Demko, 89, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022 at Wellbrooke in South Bend, IN. She was born on February 11, 1933 in La Crosse, WI, to Mark and Dorothy (Miller) Sutton, both of whom preceded her in death. Olive was also preceded in death by her first husband, Daniel Demko, on January 1990, and subsequently by her second husband, Harry D. Collier, on March 4, 2008; as well as by her brother, Mark Sutton; and sister-in-law, Mary Sutton. Olive is survived by her daughter, Julie Demko of South Bend, IN; sons, Daniel J. (Sandra) Demko of Sheboygan, WI, and Michael (Anne) Demko of Littleton, CO; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brother, John Sutton of Westby, WI. Olive earned her bachelor’s degree in education at Wayne State University. She was employed as a kindergarten teacher at St. Mary’s School in Niles, MI. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in South Bend. Funeral services for Olive will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Palmer Funeral Home-Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN. Pastor Samuel Cocar will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Niles, MI. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00am-12:00pm on Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
