Eugene J. CHUDZYNSKI, 80, 1225 W. Ninth St., died at 4:46 a.m. Tuesday at Woodlawn Hospital.
Born in LaPorte, to Nicholas and Joan MILLER CHUDZYNSKI, he married Doris ANDERSON June 29, 1946, in LaPorte. She survives. Mr. Chudzynski earned a degree in civil engineering from Purdue University in 1949. He retired in 1984 from McMahon O'Connor Construction Co., after 30 years. He served eight years as Fulton County Surveyor and was instrumental in helping to reconstruct the round barn museum at Fulton County Historical Society grounds. He was a licensed engineer, land surveyor and realtor. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kiwanis Club, Fulton County Historical Society, Elks Lodge and Knights of Columbus. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II and spent a year as a prisoner of war in Germany.Surviving with his wife, at home, are one daughter, Carol S. BRADEMAS, Mishawaka; three sons, Tom E. [CHUDZYNSKI], Rochester, David A. [CHUDZYNSKI] and wife Deborah C., South Bend, Dan R. [CHUDZYNSKI] and wife Kendra, Rochester; five grandchildren, Adam, Dylan, Ryan and Elyse CHUDZYNSKI and Kiley DAGUE; one brother, Raymond [CHUDZYNSKI], LaPorte; several nieces and nephews. Preceding in death were his parents and one sister, Adelaide WHITE. Services are at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rochester, with Rev. Joseph JACOB officiating. Burial will be at Rochester IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester. There will be a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church building fund or the American Cancer Society.
