SOUTH BEND - Genevieve D. "Jean" Dobosz, 93, passed away at 8:23 a.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2009 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. Jean was born on November 23, 1915 in South Bend to John and Antoniette (Szlanfucht) Podemski. On April 27, 1940, in South Bend, Jean married Walter Dobosz and he passed away on September 29, 1987. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Chester Podemski and a sister, Theodora Wisler. Jean is survived by her two children, Donna M. (William) Butler and Joseph D. Dobosz, both of South Bend; two grandchildren, Heidi M. (Tim) Trenerry, and Brigit N. Richmond; and by two great-grandsons, Joseph William and Jackson Xavier Trenerry. Jean was a parishioner of St. Casimir Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Rosary Society. She also was a member of Senior Citizens, St. Anns Society, and Sacred Heart Association. Jean loved her cats, Jilly and Stasha. Jean was proud of her lawn and loved her flowers. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2009 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 29, 2009 in St. Casimir Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Visitation will also be from noon to 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home prior to the mass on Monday.
