July 21, 1923 - Dec. 23, 2012
NILES - Guy's life began on July 21, 1923, in Niles, the son of Guy and Dorothy (Weaver) Kizer. He served his country during WW II in the United States Army as a truck driver. Guy continued his career as a truck driver in civilian life, working for Associated Trucking. He loved to bowl, golf, and enjoyed fishing with family at Corey Lake. He was a Notre Dame and Cubs fan. Guy attended Michiana Christian Embassy where he volunteered as a parking attendant and usher. He moved to the Willows Assisted Living earlier this year where he and his family appreciated his good care and attention, especially from Julie. Guy was married twice in his life, first to Clara Kizer, and after her death to Alice Kizer, who also preceded him in death. He is survived by his children, Vicki Brown of Albany, GA, Stanley (Jo) Kizer of Niles, Pam (Dave) Hyink of South Bend and Jack (Jackie) Kizer of South Bend; 11 grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Arlene Dillavou of Niles and Wanda (Frank) Jackson of Benton Harbor; and several nieces and nephews. Guy passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2012, at the Willows in St. Joseph. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Alvin and Marvin Kizer and sister, Helen LaCombe. Guy's family will gather with friends on Thursday from 1-2 p.m. at Michiana Christian Embassy in Niles where his funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., led by Pastor Jeff Whitaker. He will be laid to rest at Mission Hills Cemetery, Niles. Yazel & Clark Chapel is serving the family. Memorial contributions in his name may be directed to the Willows Activity Fund or to Michiana Christian Embassy. Please sign his guestbook and leave a memory of Guy at www.yazel-clark.com.
