SOUTH BEND - Martha M. Hosinski, 97, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away Monday, April 4, 2011, in the Sanctuary at St. Paul's. Martha was born April 6, 1913, to Stanislaw and Martha (Kruszewski) Drajus. She retired in 1983 after 28 years as a medical assistant with Dr. Harvey J. Brechtl and 21 years with Drs. B.J. Bolka and E.S. Shelley. Martha is survived by her son, Rev. Thomas E. Hosinski, C.S.C., of Portland, Oregon. Martha was a member of St. Hedwig Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Hedwig Rosary Society, K.I.T. (Keeping in Touch) of St. Hedwig, the Golden Cluster of St. Hedwig, the Harvest House of St. Adalbert, was a charter member of the Chopin Fine Arts Club, the Daughters of Isabella, The Padre Pio Prayer Group, and was a Snite Museum volunteer. She was one of the first graduates from the former St. Hedwig High School. Fr. Tom Hosinski, C.S.C., would like to thank the nurses, aides and staff of Sanctuary at St. Paul's for the fine care they gave his mother for the past eight years. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2011, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana, where a Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2011, in St. Hedwig Catholic Church, with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Hedwig Catholic Church, 331 South Scott Street, South Bend, IN 46601-2599.
