WALNUT - Eloise (Ozzie) Minzey, age 73, died Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. Ozzie was born on September 4, 1948 in Rock Island, the daughter of Claude and Louise (Diggs) McKanna. She married Ronald Minzey on December 28, 1968 in Walnut. Ozzie worked as a barber throughout the majority of her life. In recent years, she was employed with Avanti Foods in Walnut and volunteered at Pass The Love thrift store in Walnut. Ozzie loved her pets, Sophie and Bentley, and cherished her time with friends and family. She was a devoted mom, grandmother, and the best friend you could ever have. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Minzey of Constantine, MI; two sons, Darrick (Lara) Minzey of Spring Grove and Brandon (Brandi) Minzey of Lake Havasu, AZ; two sisters, Sharon (Dean) Ege and Nancy (Harvey) Andrew, both of Walnut; brother, Robert (Janice) McKanna of Rock Falls; sister-in-law, Barbara McKanna of Walnut and four grandchildren, Payton, Dylan, Parker and Tyler. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Louise McKanna and brother, Larry McKanna. Cremation rites have been accorded. Ozzie requested there be no formal service, instead, please raise a glass and have a drink in her memory. Arrangements were completed by the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut.
