Darrell D. Drudge, 76 years of age, passed away at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, July 7, 2021. He was born on June 1, 1945 in Fort Wayne, IN to the late Thames C. Drudge and Verna E. (Rigel) Harrington. On June 28, 1969 in South Bend he was united in marriage to Joan K. (Deranek) Drudge, who preceded him in death on July 10, 2017. Darrell is survived by his daughters, Linda D. (John) Buck of Mishawaka, Teri J. Drudge of South Bend and Robyn M. Drudge of South Bend; along with five grandchildren, Robert (Bridgette) Buck, Jonathan Buck, Brandon Drudge, Jacob Lange, Olivia Freeman; and one great grandchild, Roman M. Drudge. He also leaves behind a brother, Dennis (Vicki) Drudge of South Bend and three half siblings, Sonya Harrington, Garry Harrington, and John Harrington all of Indiana. He was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Drudge. Darrell was a lifelong resident of the River Park neighborhood. He could usually be seen sitting on his porch talking with neighbors and waving to the numerous old friends who honked as they drove by. Most mornings were spent hanging out at the Speedway gas station on the Avenue talking with buddies and making coffee, although he still had to pay for his own. Darrell’s greatest love was his grandchildren, and great grandchild. They put a smile on his face. He had a very close relationships with his in-laws and enjoyed spending time with them over the years. Darrell was ornery but loved. If he was giving you a hard time it meant he liked you. He will be deeply missed by many. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Palmer Funeral Home - River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, In 46615. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will Immediately follow at Highland Cemetery in South Bend.
